Tracking ASX stocks and ETFs

How to add equity holdings, including ASX, US-listed shares, and crypto.

Updated 2026-05-14 1 min read

Auravest tracks share and ETF holdings with delayed pricing updates. You enter the holding, and the platform refreshes the market value daily.

Supported markets

  • ASX — ordinary shares, LICs, and ETFs. Append .AX to the ticker (e.g. CBA.AX, VAS.AX).
  • US — NASDAQ and NYSE-listed shares with their plain ticker (e.g. AAPL).
  • Crypto — major coins by symbol (e.g. BTC, ETH).

Adding a holding

  1. Click Add Asset.
  2. Choose Stock or Crypto.
  3. Enter the ticker, the number of units you hold, and (optionally) your average purchase price and any brokerage paid.
  4. Save.

If you enter the purchase price, Auravest tracks return and unrealised gain over the lifetime of the holding. If you skip it, you'll still see current value, just not performance.

Dividend reinvestment plans (DRP)

There's no automated DRP handling yet. When a dividend is reinvested, edit the holding and bump the unit count by the reinvested amount. The platform recalculates value from there.

CHESS statements

Automatic CHESS or broker-statement parsing is not currently supported. Holdings are entered manually or updated when you reconcile against your broker.

Currency

Non-AUD holdings are stored in their native currency and converted to AUD for display using the latest rate. The base currency is set in your profile.
