Exporting your data & deleting your account

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, and how to act on them.

Updated 2026-05-14 1 min read

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. This article explains how each one works.

Exporting your data

You can export the data you've entered into Auravest in CSV form. This is useful at end-of-financial-year for your accountant, or if you want a personal backup.

  1. Go to Settings → Data.
  2. Click Export my data.
  3. You'll receive a download containing:
    • Assets and liabilities
    • Transactions
    • Goals
    • Profile fields (excluding password)

The export is generated on demand and is not retained on our servers after download.

Deleting your account

Deletion is permanent and removes all of your data from our active systems.

  1. Go to Settings → Data.
  2. Click Delete my account.
  3. Confirm via the email link we send.

After confirmation:

  • Active records are deleted within 7 days.
  • Encrypted backups age out within 35 days and are then overwritten.
  • Some records may be retained where law requires it — for example, transaction records linked to tax invoices, kept for the period the ATO requires. The Privacy Policy lists these by category.

Revoking external access

Deleting your Auravest account doesn't automatically revoke tokens at the connected services. After deletion, also revoke any Up Bank Personal Access Token from the Up app under Settings → API → Personal Access Tokens.

If you'd like to keep your account but stop your data being processed by the AI assistant, switch off AI features in Settings → Profile. Existing data is unaffected; no new prompts are sent.
